ABOUT ME
Since 2011 I have been very lucky to be able to take the opportunity to turn my lifelong passion of making hats, into my full-time profession - and I simply adore what I do every day for my job! I always take great pride in helping clients co-ordinate their hats with their accessories for when they are attending a wedding or special event.
Using my design skills and a flair for expressing an individual’s personality in the accessories they choose to wear, I love creating one-off handmade hats, headpieces that will compliment customer's special occasion outfit perfectly.
I graduated with a first class honours degree in Jewellery Design in Summer 2001. I then sold jewellery in independent quality retailers and boutiques as well as large department stores such as Liberty and Harvey Nichols in London. A lot of my time since then was spent managing contemporary art and design-led craft galleries, as well as making and selling my own jewellery ranges.
However, my true passion has always been making hats and accessories to complete a ladies' special occasion outfit. I have instinctively been achieving this since my teens for friends and relatives, and in 2011 I set up Marvellous Millinery for my full-time occupation as a self-employed milliner, and haven't looked back since! It has given me great pleasure to see my business grow and develop over the years, and recently I started working from my own purpose built air-conditioned studio in my garden where I can meet customers in a private environment for personal 1-2-1 consultations. Everything is here to be able to talk through how ladies would like their finished hats to look, and customers really enjoy being able to tick several items off their accessories wish-lists by also ordering matching silk stoles, silk-covered handbags and Swarovski crystal highlighted Freshwater Pearls to complete their look - all under one roof!

I personally draw my inspiration from observing flora in beautiful garden settings and enjoy highlighting accents in an individual's self-expression by the way they accessorise. I love my job and nothing gives me greater pleasure than to receive a photograph from a Happy Customer enjoying her own Marvellous Millinery Moment at the special event she is attending!
I have lived happily in Winchester with my husband for many years and enjoy being an active member of the Winchester Musicals and Opera Society, performing at The Theatre Royal in Winchester each spring and autumn.
