This striking ready-to-wear pillbox fascinator is one of a kind - and once it has sold, it is gone for good. The foundation is a 6" black buntal base, fitted with a metal comb and millinery elastic so that it sits securely and comfortably throughout the day - no wobbling, no need to touch it, and no fussing in photographs. On the crown, I have set a softly gathered bubble of ivory crin veiling, which floats gently as you move. Above this, a generous triple-layered sinamay bow in natural and nude tones billows out gracefully, adding visual volume without any weight. The bow is cinched with a ribbon of shimmering bronze-coloured sequin ribbon, which catches the light beautifully and ties the whole colour story together. To complete the design, a striped quill and a curling Peter Pan feather sweep dramatically upwards and over the piece, giving the hat real height and presence from every angle.
This design is a wonderful choice for a Mother of the Bride or Mother of the Groom who would like to add height and drama to her wedding outfit. The colour combination of black, ivory and natural tones works beautifully alongside a wide range of outfits and complexions.
